DAY 2: LEEDS CASTLE AND WINE
Today, use your Gardens & Gourmet Pass to visit Leeds Castle, described by Lord Conway as "the most beautiful castle in the world". Built by the Normans on an island and surrounded by a lake, the original purpose of Leeds Castle was to be a fortress in south-east England, but it became one of the favourite residences of the British nobility, including Henry VIII and his first wife, Catalina de Aragón. The original features fell into disrepair in the eighteenth century, but the castle was transformed into a country house and now together with the 500 hectares of land with beautiful gardens, are open to the public. Afterwards, enjoy lunch in a cosy pub (the Milk House for example), before heading off to take a tour of Chapel Down vineyard. Nestled in the stunning Kent countryside in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', Chapel Down offers tours of its vineyards and winery, followed by a tutored tasting of their award-winning range of wines.
Overnight: Mercure Great Danes, Maidstone or similar (B)

DAY 3: HEVER CASTLE
Visit Hever Castle, the old house of Anne Boleyn, the unfortunate second wife of King Henry VIII. It is a Tudor style farm surrounded by the most charming gardens in Great Britain. Walk through the magnificent rose flowers in the garden and learn about the life of the Tudors. Continue on to a nearby garden such as Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, a historic house and garden with over 170 years of planting history. The Gardens boast a range of fascinating features such as The Orchard Sweep, where you’ll find trees dating from the 1800s, and the Walled Garden, which boasts Himalayan-inspired grasssculpted terraces and colourful summer planting. Afterwards, relax in the Riverhill Café, which prides itself on its homemade food using ingredients sourced locally wherever possible.

DAY 4: BEER AND GARDENS

Set off for Britain’s oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame Brewery, found in the medieval market town of Faversham. Learn about how they’ve been brewing here for centuries before enjoying a tutored tasting of their Kentish ales and speciality lagers. When you’ve finished, head to the nearby Macknade Fine Foods Hall and browse the tempting shelves of this family-run business which prides itself on bringing customers closer to the producer. Why not pick up some ingredients for a delicious lunch? Afterwards, explore Mount Ephraim Gardens, an Edwardian terraced gardens spread over 10 acres. The Gardens are home to a vast collection of spring bulbs, trees and shrubs including Rhododendrons, Camelias and Magnolias, and even a 'Miz-maze’, based on a traditional labyrinth design.
